JW Marriott launches 11th property
Marriott International has opened its 10,000th property worldwide, reaching a major milestone ahead of the hospitality group’s 100-year anniversary. The landmark opening is JW Marriott Ranthambore Resort & Spa in India, the brand’s 11th property in the country.
Anthony Capuano, Marriott International President and CEO, said: “Marriott was founded 99 years ago as a nine-seat root beer stand, and as of today, has grown into a global portfolio of 10,000 properties spanning 146 countries and territories.”

Located in Sawai Madhopur, Rajasthan, the luxury retreat sits adjacent to Ranthambore National Park, home to Bengal tigers and the 10th-century Ranthambore Fort. Accommodation comprises 127 rooms and villas, while dining includes contemporary Indian, regional and botanical-inspired cuisine.
India remains a key growth market for Marriott, with openings planned for 2027 including The Ritz-Carlton Mumbai and The St Regis New Delhi.
Across its portfolio, Marriott operates seven luxury brands with around 700 hotels in 74 countries, with JW Marriott now exceeding 130 properties worldwide.
Recent additions across Europe include The St. Regis Budapest in Hungary, The Westin Playa Vallarta in Mexico, W Sardinia in Italy, and Amoh, a Luxury Collection Resort, Rhodes in Greece. Future global openings in 2026 include The St Regis London, marking the luxury brand’s debut in the UK capital. Located on Bond Street, the 195-key hotel will feature signature St Regis experiences such as its butler service and bar.
