Donald Trump told critics of the Iran conflict to “sit back and relax” – but history isn't made by those on the sidelines. At moments like this, the public needs facts, accountability, and fearless reporting – not blind trust.

The secretary of state’s comments arrived after the president declared that a deal with Iran was “not a simple thing.”

The Iran war is “over”… err, well, that’s what Marco Rubio is saying.
In a tense exchange during his congressional testimony on Tuesday, the secretary of state dropped the bonkers claim after Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) questioned his assertion that America is “winning” the conflict.
“Well, the war’s over now,” Rubio said.
“The war is not over,” Booker hit back before stressing that Americans are “losing at the pump and with their costs.”
“And yet this thing still hasn’t been resolved,” continued the senator, who went on to highlight President Donald Trump’s social media posts about the war.
“Every day he tweets out, ‘Oh, we’ve obliterated them, we’ve annihilated them. They’re going to surrender.’ But yet we still find ourselves spending billions of dollars a week,” Booker said.
Booker: You keep telling us how we’re winning this war.

Rubio: The war is over.

Booker: The war is not over. The American people see how we’re losing at the pump and with their costs, and yet this thing still hasn’t been resolved. Every day he tweets out, oh, we’ve obliterated… pic.twitter.com/6fFibxsq4H
The comments from Rubio — who claimed that “Operation Epic Fury” was “over” early last month — arrived after Trump told ABC News on Monday that he’d have a deal to extend the ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz “over the next week.”
The president said an agreement with Iran could be “even better than a military victory,” noting that a deal was “not a simple thing.”
“You’re talking about a real large country — them — very large country making a deal. Tremendous hostility, really,” he said. “So it’s not an easy thing for them. It’s actually not easy from our standpoint, either. But we’re getting what we need to get.”
Critics clowned Rubio over his declaration, which the progressive MeidasTouch Network likened to President George W. Bush’s “Mission Accomplished” moment during the Iraq War.
“Life comes at you fast,” the outlet wrote on X.

Why is Hormuz still closed? Did any tell Iran it’s over?
So when is the United States leaving? https://t.co/vYFqY4rHaG
The gaslighting from the Trump administration is truly wild https://t.co/QA9CQ7oO2W
this statement by him today probably killed his viability to run for president in ’28 and beyond.

this iran war will stain politicians just like iraq.
