Major streaming services including Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, and MGM+ released a new selection of featured films for the weekend of June 20-21, 2026. The arrivals offer a variety of genres ranging from high-budget science fiction to romantic comedies and family animation.
According to a report by Yahoo, the sci-fi feature “Project Hail Mary” led the weekly lineup on the MGM+ platform. The film adaptation stars Ryan Gosling as Ryland Grace, a scientist turned middle school teacher tasked with saving humanity from a space-borne threat alongside an alien character named Rocky.
For romantic comedy viewers, Netflix introduced “Voicemails for Isabelle” starring Zoey Deutch and Nick Robinson, which explores themes of grief and sisterhood through a cross-country relationship. The platform also added the classic romantic comedy-drama “Drinking Buddies” featuring Olivia Wilde and Jake Johnson to its weekend catalog.
Hulu expanded its original comedy roster with “Never Change!,” a high school reunion story written by and starring John Reynolds. Meanwhile, family programming shifted as “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants,” featuring the voice work of Tom Kenny and Mark Hamill, made its debut on Prime Video after moving from MGM+.
