However, commercial LPG cylinder prices were increased on June 1, 2026. Oil marketing companies raised commercial cylinder rates by Rs 42 to Rs 54, depending on the city. This increase has added to the operating costs of restaurants, hotels, and small businesses that rely heavily on commercial LPG.
The latest price of a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder in key cities is as follows:
Consumers can continue to purchase domestic cylinders at these rates until any new revision is announced.
Commercial LPG cylinder prices have seen frequent revisions in recent months. Since March 2026, oil companies have revised commercial LPG rates five times.
The latest increase has further raised expenses for restaurants, food outlets, and other businesses that use commercial gas cylinders regularly. Industry experts say repeated price revisions can affect operating costs and profit margins for small businesses.
The central government has instructed state-run oil companies to expand the country’s LPG storage capacity.
According to the Petroleum Ministry, companies have been asked to ensure enough storage facilities to maintain at least 30 days of LPG reserves. The move is aimed at strengthening India’s energy security and ensuring uninterrupted supply during emergencies.
Under current rules, LPG cylinders can be booked after a gap of 45 days in rural areas and 25 days in urban areas.
The government has also completed KYC verification for most LPG consumers. In addition, OTP verification is now mandatory for cylinder delivery. These measures have been introduced to prevent black marketing and ensure that LPG subsidies and supplies reach genuine consumers.
