Jamshedpur: A 17-year-old AI educator, student entrepreneur, and innovator of the Steel City, Yashwardhan Sharma, has been conferred with the prestigious Young AI Changemaker of India Award 2026 at the Bharat 2.0 Conclave 2026 held in Mumbai. Yashwardhan is a class 12th student of St John’s School, Jugsalai.
The award was presented in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Artificial Intelligence education, youth innovation, and the application of technology for social impact. The honour was recommended by the Editorial and Analytics Team of the Bharat 2.0 Conclave after an assessment of his achievements and growing influence in the field of AI education.
The Bharat 2.0 Conclave brought together leading entrepreneurs, policymakers, educators, innovators, and business leaders from across the country to deliberate on leadership, innovation, technology, and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. The event featured noted personalities, including retired IPS officer Dr. Kiran Bedi, who attended as the honorary guest and keynote speaker.
Yashwardhan received the award from Dr. Bedi, marking a significant milestone in his journey as one of India’s emerging young AI educators and changemakers.
Over the past few years, Yashwardhan has conducted AI awareness and educational sessions for more than 6,000 students across schools, colleges, universities, and other institutions. One of his notable initiatives was a large-scale AI workshop held in Jamshedpur, which attracted over 170 participants.
He has also delivered guest lectures and AI-focused sessions at institutions such as Government Engineering College Palamu and Srinath University, introducing hundreds of engineering and computer science students to emerging developments in Artificial Intelligence.
Among his ongoing initiatives is “Scheme Setu,” an AI-powered platform being developed in collaboration with the district administration of Seraikela-Kharsawan and the Ministry of Rural Development. The platform aims to help citizens identify government welfare schemes for which they are eligible, thereby improving access to public services and benefits.
Yashwardhan is also working with the District Education Officer of Garhwa to promote AI awareness and training programmes in government schools, with the goal of preparing students for a technology-driven future.
During the conclave, Yashwardhan participated in a fireside chat hosted by Business Viewpoint Magazine, where he shared insights into his journey as a young entrepreneur and educator. He discussed the future of Artificial Intelligence, the importance of AI literacy among students, innovation, entrepreneurship and the need to make emerging technologies accessible to young people across India.
The conclave also provided opportunities for interaction with startup founders, industry experts, educational administrators, and business leaders. Through panel discussions, interviews, and networking sessions, he highlighted the transformative role of AI in education, governance, and public service delivery, while advocating for youth-led innovation and technology-driven social impact.
Speaking about his vision, Yashwardhan emphasized that India’s future growth will be driven by empowering young minds with technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He reiterated his commitment to making Artificial Intelligence accessible to students across the country and developing solutions that address real-world challenges in education, governance, and public welfare.
