Two U.S. envoys are in the Middle East on Wednesday to continue peace negotiations to end the Iran war. However, President Donald Trump’s special Mideast envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner are not there to speak directly with Iranian representatives.
A spokesperson for Qatar’s Foreign Ministry, Majed al-Ansari, said there will not be direct talks between the U.S. and Iran. Instead, mediators will be working as a go-between as negotiations progress and no high-level officials will be involved at this point.
