The deadline for applications for the Boone County Senior Real Estate Tax Relief Program is approaching.
Eligible taxpayers can apply until 5 p.m. June 30, according to a community announcement. The program is designed for Boone County residents who meet specific criteria.

Public notaries will be generally available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday on the first floor of the government center to assist with notarizing applications. Notary services are also available at most banks, credit unions and local libraries.
Completed notarized applications, along with required supporting documents, should be submitted to the Boone County Collector of Revenue’s Office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Applications can also be mailed to Boone County Collector’s Office, 801 E. Walnut St., Room 118, Columbia, MO 65201.
Applicants are encouraged to allow up to 30 days for their applications to be reviewed. Notifications of approval or denial will be sent by the Collector’s Office.
For eligible taxpayers as of Jan. 1, 2026, the credit will be calculated using 2026 as the base tax year, according to the announcement. Any eligible credit amount will be applied to the 2027 real estate tax statement.
