Ghana AI Summit announces June 15 deadline for 2026 awards nominations – Modern Ghana

Nominations for the second edition of the Ghana AI Awards are set to close on June 15, ahead of the Ghana AI Summit and Awards scheduled for July 29 and 30.
The awards scheme seeks to recognise individuals, startups, companies and institutions contributing to the growth and application of artificial intelligence in Ghana.
In a statement issued on Thursday, June 4, the organisers described the awards as a platform aimed at encouraging innovation within Ghana's emerging AI ecosystem.
“The Ghana AI Awards is more than a recognition platform; it is a catalyst for innovation, celebrating excellence, rewarding pioneers, and strengthening the ecosystem that will shape Ghana’s AI-driven future,” Deloitte Ghana's AI Awards Assurance Consultant, Charles Yeboah, was quoted as saying.
The 2026 edition will feature eight award categories, including AI Personality of the Year, Most Promising AI Idea of the Year, Best AI Startup of the Year, Best AI Company of the Year and Best AI Innovation of the Year.

The summit will be held under the theme, “Artificial Intelligence for Economic Growth and Job Creation: Innovation, Inclusion and Future Jobs.”
The event is expected to bring together stakeholders from government, academia, industry, startups and civil society to discuss the role of artificial intelligence in national development.
“Under the theme ‘Artificial Intelligence for Economic Growth and Job Creation: Innovation, Inclusion and Future Jobs,’ the summit will bring together leading voices from government, academia, industry, startups, and civil society to explore how AI can drive sustainable development, economic transformation, and employment opportunities,” part of the statement said.
The organisers noted that all nominations will be assessed through an evaluation process focused on innovation, impact, scalability and contribution to Ghana's artificial intelligence ecosystem.
“Entry is completely free. This is an opportunity to gain national recognition and showcase your contribution to Ghana’s growing AI ecosystem. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their entries through the official nomination portal: https://ghanaaisummit.com/summits/2/nominations/new,” the statement stressed.
