At the WIPR Summit in March, IP owners and stakeholders came together to discuss issues such as IP valuation and financing; the rise of agentic artificial intelligence (AI); and using generative AI in patent drafting.
Speakers included Steve Akerley, vice president, deputy general counsel and head of litigation at Interdigital; Deirdre Clarke, IP counsel at Novartis; and Cozen O’Connor IP litigation chair James Gale.

The recordings include Crowell & Moring partner Thomas Williams, Koch Capabilities chief IP counsel Stephen Sheldon and others discussing how emerging developments in agentic AI may reshape IP protection frameworks across key jurisdictions.
McDermott Will & Schulte partner Amol Parikh was among the panellists exploring how IP assets can be leveraged to unlock financing opportunities and support business expansion.
Insights into filing strategies across jurisdictions were shared by IP leaders during a session titled ‘The shifting sands of the global IP landscape’.
Closing out the programme, Lenovo IP portfolio manager Anne Burkhart and IBM program manager (patent strategy and defence) Steven Fisher-Stawinski led a debate on the use of generative AI in patent drafting.
The discussion considered issues such as the potential long-term implications of AI agents in the drafting process, and addressed concerns around enforceability.
