Final controlled collapse marks milestone in Aloha Stadium teardown – Hawaii News Now

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A major milestone in the development of the New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District, as the final phase of tripping, is taking place on Tuesday.
The tripping is set to take place around 9 a.m.
Construction crews have been removing sections of the bowl in a technique called “tripping.” Tripping is a safe, controlled collapse that is used to remove structural supports.
Demolition started in mid-February and is on track to finish in December.
Developer Stanford Carr said the New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District (NASED), a $650 million public-private project, is on track for a 2029 opening with 31,000 seats and a potential 10,000-seat expansion.
