The Delhi government will provide special assistance to Kanwar camps during the holy month of Shravan
The Delhi government has formed a six-member committee headed by Labour Minister Kapil Mishra to ensure proper facilities for the Kanwar Yatra, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Saturday.
Ms. Gupta said her government will once again ensure dignified and improved facilities for Shiva devotees during the holy month of Shravan. Special assistance will also be provided to Kanwar camps for this purpose.
Mr. Mishra will serve as the chairperson of the Kanwar Committee, while MLAs Ajay Mahawar, Anil Sharma, Karnail Singh, Sanjay Goel, and Umang Bajaj have been inducted as members of the committee.
The Chief Minister said Kanwar Yatra is not merely a religious event but a grand celebration of India’s rich heritage. She said the large number of devotees who gather on the streets during Shravan reflects the country’s cultural unity.
