Reacting to reports that 20 Trinamool Congress MPs have merged with the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI), founder and National Organising Secretary Shantanu Dey said he first learned about the development through social media and news reports. Dey said he has not yet been formally informed by the party president but would welcome discussions with the leaders. He expressed optimism about the party's growth and reiterated NCPI's support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA.
