Muller was found at his gated, five-bedroom property on Langley Road in the village of Claverdon, Warwickshire, in the early hours on June 7 morning, the Stratford Herald reported.
Ambulance crews alerted police at 6:15 a.m. about a man in his 50s who needed urgent care for a stab wound to his chest, according to a Warwickshire Police statement. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:37 a.m.
A 55-year-old woman from Birmingham was arrested at 7:33 a.m. on suspicion of murder and has since been released on bail, police said. The force said there was no wider risk to the public and that an investigation was underway.
Muller had been named group CEO of Derby-based Node4 in April. Node4, which describes itself as an AI business solutions and managed service provider and is one of the Midlands’ largest technology companies, is backed by private equity firm Providence Equity Partners and employs around 1,100 staff. Muller had been brought in to sharpen the company’s strategy and expand its AI-augmented services.
In a statement, a Node4 spokesman said the company was “absolutely devastated” by Muller’s death.
“Although Neil only recently joined Node4, he made a meaningful impact in a short space of time,” the spokesman said. “He brought real energy, momentum and passion to the business, and his loss will be deeply felt by people across Node4 and the wider industry.”
Muller spent more than two decades at the IT services group Computacenter, rising to managing director for the U.K. and Ireland, before serving as group CEO of Daisy Group from 2015 to 2018 and then leading the cloud services provider Digital Space for seven years until 2025.
Tributes from across the British technology sector followed news of his death. John Bearn, managing director for Europe at Computacenter, wrote on LinkedIn that Muller was one of the best in the industry, the trade publication Insider Media reported.

Beyond his career, Muller was a well-known figure in Claverdon, where he had spent six years involved with the local football club as assistant manager and manager before stepping back around two years ago. He remained a sponsor of the club, whose men’s team won a league and cup double this season. He was photographed celebrating that double with the team at Warwick Racecourse earlier this year, the Daily Mail reported. He was married with two children.
His father, Brian, 81, told the Daily Mail the family was still waiting to learn what had happened.
“I had a phone call from the police at 9 a.m. on Monday morning to say Neil had died but we’ve not been told anything else. We’ve not had a visit from the police or anything, so we just don’t know.”
He said he had last spoken to his son by phone the previous week, adding that the family sometimes went months without contact because of his son’s work.
Residents said they were shaken by the death. One neighbor, who asked not to be named, said Muller had done a great deal for the local football club and that his loss was deeply felt across the village.
