COLUMBIA, S.C. — Hunters interested in participating in South Carolina’s public alligator hunting season can now apply for the 2026 lottery, according to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.
SCDNR announced that lottery applications are available through July 15.
A $10 nonrefundable application fee is required to enter the lottery. Hunters selected through the drawing will be charged a $100 tag fee automatically through the payment method stored in their Go Outdoors South Carolina profile. Additional fees apply to nonresident hunters.
The agency said this year’s public alligator hunting season will begin at noon on Sept. 12 and continue through noon on Oct. 10.
Applicants will be notified by email after the lottery drawing is completed.
Hunters can apply through the Go Outdoors South Carolina website.
