Apple AAPL is seeing AI become a much bigger App Store growth driver, with billings revenue from AI focused apps increasing fourfold in 2025.
A new Analysis Group study found that 40 of the top 100 App Store apps last year included consumer facing AI features. Developers are using tools from companies like Anthropic, Stability AI and Midjourney, along with Apple's own on device technology, to add features across fashion, translation, photography and digital design apps.
The bigger App Store ecosystem also remains massive. Global developer billings and sales topped $1.4 trillion in 2025, including $1.1 trillion from physical goods and services, $149 billion from digital goods and services, and $151 billion from in app advertising. Apple said it did not take a commission on about 90% of total billings and sales.
The App Store averaged 850 million weekly users across 175 countries and regions, with China at $562 billion, the U.S. at $453 billion and Europe at $184 billion. Investors will now watch whether AI apps can keep expanding Apple's services story.
