Music Ally
Analysis, knowledge and skills for the modern global music business
Apple kicked off its WWDC event yesterday – its annual conference for developers – with the traditional keynote debuting its next raft of software updates and services.
Want to know what’s new in Apple Music when the iOS 27 update drops later this year? You’ll need some sharp eyes to spot the references in a huge word-cloud slide shown a few minutes into the keynote.
“Refreshed artist pages in Apple Music” is one of them and “Refreshed album pages in Apple Music” another. “Improved reliability of Apple Music streaming” is also promised, as is “Faster Apple Music playback start”.
9 to 5 Mac reported that Apple has also “upgraded the algorithms” for Apple Music’s ‘AutoMix’ feature “to make even more seamless transitions between different music tracks”.
These all sound like relatively minor tweaks, although we’d expect more new features to be revealed closer to the iOS 27 release this autumn.
Plenty of non-music things were announced at the keynote, of course. Engadget has a handy primer on the plans for Siri AI and Apple Intelligence; new child-safety features and design changes.
