Apple Keeps Smartphone Lead – TradingView

Home Technology Apple Keeps Smartphone Lead – TradingView

Apple (AAPL, Financials) is still the name to beat in U.S. smartphones, even as fewer people bought new devices in the first quarter.
Omdia said U.S. smartphone shipments fell 3% from a year earlier to 33.4 million units. Slower carrier upgrades, higher parts costs and delayed flagship launches all made the market tougher.
For Apple, staying in front matters. The iPhone is still the product that pulls people into Apple's world, from apps and watches to services and payments.
The softer market also says something about shoppers. Many people are holding on to their phones longer, especially when prices are high and the upgrades feel less urgent.
That puts more pressure on Apple's next iPhone cycle. Investors will want to see whether new features are strong enough to bring customers back.
