Alabama leaders react to death of Auburn student Weston Higginbotham in Japan – WVTM

Local leaders are beginning to react to the death of an Auburn University student in Japan over a week after he went missing while on a trip with his family.
The body of missing 20-year-old James “Weston” Higginbotham from Hoover was found by search teams in a mountainous area outside Kyoto, his mother posted Saturday morning on Facebook.
“The grief we feel is impossible to put into words. We are forever grateful for the time we had with our sweet, precious Weston, but cannot begin to understand what life without him will be like,” Nancy Higginbotham wrote in her post.

She thanked all of the people and groups who helped in the search and shared his story to help spread awareness.
It is unclear how Weston died at this time.

“Truly heartbreaking news. My prayers are with the Higginbotham family and loved ones,” Tuberville said in a Facebook post.
