Paper just can’t disappear completely however it still in constant decline.

Good for Kyoto newspaper for allowing these guys to print their ‘zine and keep the printed word alive. There is something about picking up a newspaper and reading it.
Paper, physical books is the best
However, the decline comes also from the fact the time allowed to read is lower, the digital area stole the time ( I am glued to the phone for nothing , like now writing this message)

Glad to see people still buy and read papers unlike smart phones or AI or the net papers have a history of making readers feel very special by having their own copy, no GB limits, No Battery decline, No hacking, and No Scamming it takes away all the Trash a society can or will throw at you.

Great take on AI!
I’ve decided to buy a newspaper in the mornings. I realize I can scan quicker, I don’t a light in my eye all the time and it provides a different tactile, auditory and visual experience. I wonder if it’s possible to have reduced news online, with longer articles on print. Basically anything to get some time away from the computer in my hand, and light in my eyes. Even if it’s just an hour. Plus I can read the junk. Small cartoons, for a chuckle, silly articles, even my horoscope just for fun, instead of the constant anger rage articles that make these website profits.Then there is the nudge here to “comment” and then to see “thread locked”. The paper can take away the nudge to comment, check for replies, some my thumb from taking my time. (I see the irony in commenting here) but the newspaper was way more enjoyable.
Definately something about reading paper magazine and books, listening to vinyl, taking photos on a real camera, using wired headphones…:)
Good on these folks. I do miss all of the “free papers” and “fanzines” that used to be published back when I was in uni. The people that put them out had a genuine passion and knowledge that mass market publications, and now AI, don’t. Atlanta had a great one called Creative Loafing that was a must read just for Neal Boortz’s column.
I ran a community printing press back in the 1970s. I loved it, and I can still smell the ink. Nothing beats letterpress for word printing. Etching is another beautiful print method. Japanese woodblock printing. All touched and created by the human hand.
