Ai Ogura has signed with Assen the first victory of his MotoGP careerat the end of a controlled race despite a rear suspension issue. With this victory, Ogura becomes the 125th different winner in MotoGP history, and the first to secure a maiden win in the category since his teammate Raúl Fernández in Australia last year. Ogura also recounted having to deal with a problem with the rear suspension during the race. “Before the problem, I was managing the situation with Raúl and Jorge. I thought there was a possibility. Then I had this issue and the gap widened. I was worried, but my pace was sufficient to catch them, overtake them, and extend the gap. Even with problems, we managed it.”
