Forget waiting for the weekend, this week is stacked. Whether you’re buying popcorn at the multiplex or settling in for a Netflix marathon, the new movies coming out this week deliver something for everyone: a DCU reboot with serious edge, one last (we promise) wild ride with the Jackass crew, a dinner party gone deliciously wrong, and a dash of high fashion, medieval intrigue, and big-brother chaos thrown in for good measure.
Leading the charge is Supergirl, DC’s grittier, angstier answer to the superhero genre, starring the breakout House of the Dragon talent Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, a young woman with a chip on her shoulder, a vendetta in her heart, and a very good dog by her side. Meanwhile, Johnny Knoxville and the gang are back to remind us that stupidity, when executed at an Olympic level, is genuinely an art form, in what they’re calling the final Jackass film. We’ll believe it when we see it.
Streaming fans aren’t left out, either. Netflix is delivering two wildly different offerings: John Cena in an unexpectedly heartfelt comedy about a man-child disrupting suburban life, and Oscar Isaac pulling double duty across centuries in the star-studded In the Hand of Dante. Rounding out the week, Seth Rogen and Olivia Wilde face marital mayhem, and Angelina Jolie takes Paris, and a life-altering phone call, in the elegant Couture.
It’s going to be a great week for movies! Check out the complete list below of all the new movies releasing in theaters and on streaming this week!
