Two killed in semi-truck crash on U.S. Highway 79 in Panola County – The Henderson News

Two people were killed Thursday morning following a crash involving a truck tractor semi-trailer on U.S. Highway 79 southwest of FM 31in DeBerry, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
DPS Troopers were dispatched to the crash at approximately 4:20 a.m. on June 25, 2026.
As of 12:10 p.m., TxDOT crews are still providing traffic control in the area. Only one northbound lane is currently open.
A preliminary investigation indicates a 2024 Peterbilt tractor towing a semi-trailer was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 79 when, for an unknown reason, the driver crossed into the northbound lane of travel and struck a tree.
Both occupants of the vehicle were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver was identified as 57-year-old Roy Allen Joshlin Jr.
The passenger was identified as 66-year-old Timothy Wayne Snider.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available at this time, according to DPS.
