Yudo India Expands Manufacturing Capacity with New Vasai Facility – Machine Maker

Yudo Hot Runner India Pvt Ltd has inaugurated a new 40,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Vasai, near Mumbai, significantly expanding its production capabilities and reinforcing its long-term commitment to India’s manufacturing sector. Dedicated exclusively to hot runner systems, the new plant more than doubles the company’s domestic production capacity, increasing output from approximately 190 systems per month to nearly 400.
The investment represents a major milestone for the company as demand for advanced injection moulding solutions continues to rise across key industries. Designed around a strategy of combining international engineering expertise with local production, the facility brings design, research and development, simulation, manufacturing, assembly, and testing operations together under one roof.
The Vasai plant also assumes a strategic role within Yudo’s global network, becoming one of the company’s nine international R&D centres. Globally, Yudo operates 24 manufacturing facilities across more than 45 countries, and the new site strengthens India’s position within the organization’s worldwide operations.
Hot runner systems play a critical role in injection moulding, enabling efficient production of plastic components used across industries. In India, Yudo serves customers in automotive, packaging, medical, and PVC applications, with the automotive sector accounting for the largest share of its business. The company has established a strong presence in the automotive hot runner market and continues to support manufacturers with technology-driven solutions tailored to evolving production requirements.
According to Vishal Agarwal, President of Yudo Hot Runner India Pvt Ltd , the expansion was driven by increasing market demand and the need for faster delivery and enhanced customer support. “With customer expectations evolving and manufacturing timelines becoming increasingly compressed, expanding our production footprint was a necessary step. This facility enables us to serve the Indian market more effectively while strengthening the country’s contribution to Yudo’s global operations,” he said.
The facility currently employs around 100 people, with plans to increase the workforce to 125 in the coming months. As part of its workforce development strategy, the company aims to increase female participation in manufacturing roles through targeted technical training and skill-building initiatives.
Sustainability has been integrated into the facility’s design through a range of resource-efficient measures. Rooftop solar panels, rainwater harvesting systems, natural daylight integration, and energy-saving infrastructure help reduce environmental impact while improving operational efficiency.
The new Vasai facility reflects Yudo India’s focus on supporting domestic manufacturing growth through advanced technology, localized production, and continuous innovation. By expanding capacity and strengthening engineering capabilities within the country, the company is contributing to the development of a more resilient and competitive plastics manufacturing ecosystem in India.
