Evacuations ordered for areas north of Jemez Springs due to wildfire – KOAT

Evacuations have been ordered in Sandoval County and the Santa Fe National Forest due to a wildfire.
According to forest officials, the wildfire was reported this morning in the McCauley Springs area and has burned 150 acres. Fire crews are working to suppress the fire.
Smoke may be visible in Albuquerque, Jemez Springs and other surrounding communities.
Areas under GO evacuation status: Jemez Falls Campground, Sierra Los Pinos, YMCA Camp Shaver
Areas under SET evacuation status: none
Areas under READY evacuation status: Los Alamos County
Acres burned: 150 acres
Evacuation Shelter: Jemez Springs Senior Center at 8154 New Mexico Highway 4 in Jemez Pueblo, La Cueva Mountain Baptist Church at 6 Riverview Court in La Cueva
Power Outages: Due to the McCauley Springs Fire, the Jemez Electric Coop is cutting power to all communities east of Thompson Ridge.
Closures: Highway 4 is closed from Mile Marker 27 to Mile Marker 40. Jemez Falls Campground, Battleship Rock Campground, Trail #137.
