Three people riding a motorbike were killed after a car hit them in Rajasthan’s Alwar district, a PTI report said. The car driver fled the accident spot and his vehicle has been seized.
In Nuh, which is near Gurugram, cars were set on fire and stones were thrown during a religious procession. As the two sides threw stones at each other, police fired tear gas shells to scatter the masses and called in reinforcements from other districts. The region was tense, and internet access was limited.

Taiwan’s Foxconn has signed an agreement with Tamil Nadu to invest 16 billion rupees ($194 million) in a new electronic components manufacturing facility that will create 6,000 jobs, the government of the southern state said on Monday. The facility will be for Foxconn Industrial Internet (FII) , a Foxconn unit, with the proposed campus coming up at the Kancheepuram district near the state capital of Chennai, a state government source said on condition of anonymity as the details are not yet public. Non-banking finance company SBFC Finance Ltd on Monday said it has set a price band of Rs 54-57 a share for its Rs 1,025-crore initial share sale. The initial public offering (IPO) will open on August 3 for subscription and conclude on August 7, the company announced. An Air India Express flight reportedly made an emergency landing at Thiruvananthapuram airport, news agency ANI says. There were 154 flyers on board. The Trichy-Sharjah flight made emergency landing due to technical issues, initial reports say.

Jalan-Kalrock Consortium, the winning bidder for bankrupt Jet Airways, on Monday said aviation regulator DGCA has renewed the airline’s air operator certificate. Cash-strapped Jet Airways stopped flying from April 17, 2019. The Air Operator Certificate (AOC) was re-issued on May 20, 2022. However, since the airline did not start operations, AOC expired on May 19, 2023. In a statement, the Jalan-Kalrock Consortium (JKC) said it has “successfully obtained renewal for AOC of Jet Airways from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on July 28, 2023”. (PTI)

An RPF jawan opened fire and killed four people inside Jaipur-Mumbai train on Monday. According to news agency ANI, the RPF constable opened fire after the Jaipur Express Train crossed Palghar in Maharashtra. After shooting four people, the accused tried to escape the scene by jumping at Dahisar Railway Station. However, he has been nabbed. An RPF ASI and three passengers are among the victims who lost their lives in the Monday shootout. The accused has been identified as Chetan Kumar Choudhary.
