Update:
The Allegheny County Police Department revealed that its prolonged presence in the 100 block of Arnoni Drive in Jefferson Hills on Saturday afternoon was due to the discovery of a male victim found unresponsive in his residence. He was ultimately pronounced dead, and preliminary information shows that he was stabbed multiple times despite the initial call stating that he was shot.
The Jefferson Hills Police Department has deemed the area safe as of Saturday night, as Arnoni Drive and the surrounding streets were reopened following the hourslong investigation.
The Jefferson Hills Police Department and Fire Rescue are urging residents to avoid one area, citing a “heavy police presence.”
In a post online, police and fire rescue officials are asking residents and drivers to avoid Arnoni Drive in Jefferson Hills.
“Please avoid the area while first responders work an active scene,” officials said.
Allegheny County dispatchers told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 that crews were called to the scene just before 4 p.m. and that no one has been taken to the hospital.
It is unclear what led to the incident.
