The Czech Republic Grand Prix is already over for Alex Marquez. After consulting with the doctors and his team, the Gresini rider decided to withdraw and focus on his recovery before the upcoming races.
Alex was back on his Ducati yesterday following his horrific fall in Barcelona in which he fractured his right collarbone and a vertebra. He certainly held his own in qualifying, with a 14th-fastest time, but he also realized that it made no sense to keep taking risks.
Yesterday, he said, “I have to listen to my body, not play the hero.” This morning, his body told him it was time to stop.
