The FBI is investigating a shooting involving U.S. Border Patrol that occured earlier this morning in Blaine, Washington.
The shooting occured on 4th and A street, according to officials.
It's unclear how many officers are involved and or how many people are injured.
The Blaine Washington Police Department confirmed in a Facebook post that a shooting did occur and that there is no threat to the public.
"There was a USBP involved shooting at the corner of 4th Street and A Street. There is no threat to the public. We ask for your assistance and patience in the area while the FBI investigates the incident and the crime scene. All media requests need to go to the FBI," the post said.
Shootings involving Border Patrol agents are not a common occurrence.

More recently, in January, a man who was alleged to be involved in a smuggling operation was shot in a gunfight with U.S. Border Patrol, and also fired at a federal helicopter near the U.S. Mexico border, according to authorities.
