June.17 (Mirror Sports) – India 'A' booked their place in the tri-series final with a commanding 101-run victory over Afghanistan A in Dambulla on Wednesday.
After posting a competitive 319/9, India A produced a clinical bowling display to dismiss Afghanistan A for 218 in 36.5 overs. The result secured their place in the final after a narrow Super Over defeat to Sri Lanka A earlier in the tournament.
Afghanistan A appeared well placed at 157/3, but a dramatic collapse saw them lose their remaining seven wickets for just 61 runs. India A's spin attack controlled the contest through the middle and latter stages of the innings, preventing any comeback and sealing a crucial victory.
The emphatic win also provided a significant boost to India A's net run rate while leaving Afghanistan A's hopes of reaching the final hanging by a thread.
