SANTIAGO (AURORA ENERGY RESEARCH)— The global energy analytics provider, Aurora Energy Research, announces the launch of its bankable battery valuation software Chronos in Chile in the third quarter of this year.
The software is used both by developers and banking entities to finance BESS storage system projects. With Chronos, bankable forecast curves are provided for batteries that are used in financial decision-making, both for financing new assets and for other operations and transactions.
Chronos is entering the Chilean market at a time of high activity in the development and construction of BESS projects. There are currently more than 70 projects, totaling around 6 GW of capacity, under construction in the country, according to the National Energy Commission. Chile is one of the markets leading the adoption of batteries for the integration of renewable energies at a global level.
Chronos is already widely used throughout Europe, Australia and the United States by battery project developers and financial institutions. The software provides support in financing different types of projects, both stand-alone and co-located with renewable energy plants.
