City man faces drug, weapons charges after Friday bust – Post Journal

A Jamestown man faces drug and weapons charges after police officers say they witnessed a drug sale Friday.
Jamestown police said in a news release on Monday that Erick J. Lopez-Cruz, 18, and Stephanie M. Soto, 36, both of Jamestown face charges after narcotics detectives and investigators from the Jamestown Police Department and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office investigating drug sales in the area of East Second and Crescent streets saw a man, later identified as Lopez-Cruz, allegedly sell drugs to a woman, later identified as Soto, at 1:31 p.m. Friday. Officers executed a search warrant of a motorcycle parked at 552 Crescent St., Jamestown, and reportedly found 60.3 grams of fentanyl, a loaded 9-millimeter handgun and a .22 caliber shotgun. Lopez Crus was taken to the city jail, where he was allegedly found with a small amount of crack cocaine and hydrocodone along with $870 that police say was the proceeds from drug sales. Lopez-Cruz was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Soto was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
The New York State Police also assisted with the investigation.
