Binghamton University & SUNY Delhi Receive $6.3 Million in State Funding
SUNY campuses in the Southern Tier will receive more than $6.3 million in new state funding as part of New York’s Fiscal Year 2027 budget.
The funding includes $5.8 million for Binghamton University and $500,000 for SUNY Delhi. SUNY officials say the investment will help maintain a freeze on resident undergraduate tuition for the 2026-27 academic year.
“Affordability is such a huge challenge for New Yorkers,” SUNY Chancellor John King said, noting that rising costs have made it difficult for many families. “it’s wonderful that the governor and the legislature have maintained this commitment to Suny, where we’re able to keep tuition frozen.”
SUNY says the funding will also support research, student services, mental health programs, paid internships, and other initiatives aimed at helping students succeed.
