GR3N SA Raises €15.5 Million To Scale PET Recycling Technology And Build Industrial Plant In Spain – Pulse 2.0

GR3N SA announced the closing of a €15.5 million Series B financing round that will support the commercialization of its proprietary PET recycling technology and fund the construction of its first industrial-scale facility.
The company said the proceeds will be used to finance MODUS, its first industrial-scale plant in Spain. The facility is expected to have a processing capacity of 40,000 tons per year and represents a major milestone in GR3N’s effort to bring its MADE (Microwave Assisted DEpolymerization) technology to market at scale.
According to the company, MODUS has already been selected to receive €35 million from the European Union Innovation Fund, providing additional support for the project as it moves toward commercialization.
GR3N noted that most PET recycling today relies on mechanical processes, which the company says can only handle a small portion of available PET waste streams. The remaining material, including colored bottles, textile fibers, and films, often ends up in landfills or is incinerated.
The company’s patented MADE technology is designed to address that challenge by processing a broader range of PET waste materials. GR3N said the process can handle 100% of PET waste streams while generating up to 80% fewer CO₂ emissions compared with virgin PET production. The technology also produces food-grade monomers that can be recycled repeatedly, supporting a more circular plastics economy.
The Series B financing marks the next phase in GR3N’s growth strategy as it transitions from pilot operations to industrial-scale deployment. The company said the investment will help accelerate the commercialization of its recycling platform and expand its ability to process difficult-to-recycle PET waste.
The financing round was led by 360 Capital, with VP Textile participating as a new investor. Existing backers also contributed to the round, reflecting continued support for the company’s mission and technology development.
KEY QUOTES:
“The proceeds will finance MODUS, our first industrial-scale plant, located in Spain, with a capacity of 40,000 tons per year. MODUS has already been selected to receive €35 million from the EU Innovation Fund, and marks a defining step toward bringing our MADE technology to market at scale.”
“Why this matters: 98% of recycling today is mechanical, and can only process 15% of available PET. The other 85% (coloured bottles, textile fibres, films) ends up in landfill or incinerated. Our patented MADE technology (Microwave Assisted DEpolymerization) changes that, processing 100% of PET waste with up to 80% fewer CO₂ emissions compared to virgin PET, and producing food-grade monomers that can be recycled infinitely. This round is the next step in bringing MADE from pilot to industrial scale.”
