Two new Indian Original series that couldn’t be more different debuted this month.
Netflix India cast a wide net with its two newly released Original Hindi series: the boxing drama Glory and the glitzy reality show Desi Bling. Also new in May is the Original crime drama film Kartavya, starring Saif Ali Khan. One important note is that the thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge debuted on Netflix this month globally, but it is not currently available in India.

This sequel to 2024’s Bharathanatyam (which was also added to Netflix this month) picks up where the original movie left off. The first film was about a patriarch’s secrets, which were apparently just the tip of the iceberg. More lies and hidden truths are uncovered in the old man’s hometown, and his son winds up embroiled in an accidental murder case and fraud involving the local temple. Sethu is content with his simple life, listening to the radio and taking care of his ill brother. When an armed fugitive seeks shelter in Sethu’s house, his simple life is turned upside down by circumstances that are as funny as they are dangerous.

This is the second half of the blockbuster saga that began with 2025’s Dhurandhar (also streaming on Netflix). Part 2 continues Indian spy Hamza Ali Mazari’s (Ranveer Singh) crusade to dismantle Pakistan’s terror nexus from within, but it also explores who Mazari was before he became a spy. Netflix is hosting the “Raw & Undekha” version of Dhurandhar: The Revenge which features a few extra minutes of footage and un-mutes some of the swear words that were censored in the theatrical release. Police Officer Pawan Malik is in hot water after a famous journalist is assassinated while he’s escorting her to her hotel. Hoping to save his career, Pawan discovers that one of the assassins is a teenage boy associated with a holy man the journalist was investigating for human trafficking. Meanwhile, the town council is out to lynch Pawan’s brother for marrying a woman outside of their caste. How can Pawan protect those he cares about when the powers that be are aligned against him? Akshay Kumar stars in the period war film Kesari (“Saffron“), based on the 1897 Battle of Saragarhi in northern India. Kumar plays Havildar Ishar Singh, who led a troop of 21 Sikh soldiers in defense of a fort against an assault by more than 10,000 Afghani tribesmen.

The patriarch of a prominent family in a small town has a stroke. Convinced that his death is imminent, the old man confesses a shocking secret to his son and asks for his help fulfilling his dying wish. The son obliges, but then the old man’s health rebounds. With family life in disarray after the secret is revealed, the clan reluctantly bands together to protect their reputation from their increasingly suspicious neighbors.
