MAHOPAC- Cancer survivors joined by family, friends, and hundreds of supporters of the American Cancer Society will be converging on the track at Mahopac High School today for the first of two Relays for Life planned in Putnam County this month.
And next Saturday, June 6, a relay will be held in Brewster.
Kate Corsitto, community manager for the American Cancer Society, said organizers were recruiting teams and volunteers for the events.
Corsitto called on residents to “join the Relay for Life movement by becoming a volunteer; making a donation; inviting a survivor to be celebrated or if you are a survivor, join us.”
Today’s Relay place from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. along the Mahopac High School track.
Those seeking more information are encouraged to contact Corsitto at kate.corsitto@cancer.org.
