GALVESTON
Several riders appeared to be stranded Thursday evening at the top of the Shark Bite roller coaster at Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier.
Witnesses reported the ride stopped near the crest of the track, leaving passengers suspended high above the pier and Gulf of Mexico.
It was not immediately clear what caused the ride to stop or how many people were affected. Emergency personnel and park staff appeared to be responding to the scene.
No injuries have been reported.
