It’s a big week at the box office and on your streaming queues, and the lineup is truly out of this world, literally!
Leading the charge is one of the most anticipated films of the summer: Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, which beams sci-fi icon-in-the-making Josh O’Connor and Emily Blunt into a chilling first-contact mystery from the director who practically invented the modern alien movie.
But Earth’s airspace isn’t the only place buzzing this week. For action junkies, The Furious unleashes Kenji Tanigaki’s bone-crunching revenge thriller, already drawing comparisons to The Raid: Redemption, as one father tears through a trafficking syndicate to save his daughter. There’s also a star-studded drag disaster comedy (Stop! That! Train!), Mexico’s first-ever feature-length stop-motion fantasy on Netflix (I Am Frankelda), a timely documentary about a divided America (Flag Day), and a twisty psychological thriller (This Tempting Madness), among others.
Whether you’re heading to the multiplex or streaming from the couch, this week’s lineup has something for just about everyone—so grab your popcorn and look up!
