Cinnamon Care Collection has introduced AI‑powered pain‑detection technology across all 23 of its homes.
The UK care group has partnered with PainChek, a medical device that uses AI and facial analysis technology to assess pain in individuals who cannot reliably self-report, such as those with dementia. It combines the techonology with a structured clinical checklist to detect pain in less than three minutes.
Carole Hunt, director at Cinnamon Care Collection, said: “We’re looking forward to implementing PainChek and seeing the difference in how we’re able to support residents across our homes. This technology will help our teams monitor wellbeing more closely and identify potential signs of pain earlier, particularly for those living with advanced dementia or limited communication.”
The total number of care services that have the Data Security and Protection Toolkit in place has reached a new high, according the Digital Care Hub.
Tealwood Grange, part of Crystal Care Collection, is the first home to open under the group’s newest person-centred design.
The majority of UK homecare providers have now adopted AI, according to a new report by homecare technology company Birdie.
