**TODAY IS A 31 ALERT DAY**
**EXTREME HEAT WARNING UNTIL 7PM**
Dangerous heat conditions will continue into Thursday with a Heat Index peaking near 110. Another round of strong to severe storms is also possible. The heat will start to ease up into the 4th of July weekend with more chances for showers and storms.
Temperatures will warm quickly, we’ll reach the mid to upper 90s with a heat index nearing or exceeding 110. Showers and storms will again flare up across the area bringing a risk for localized damaging wind gusts, heavy rain and frequent lightning.
The heat will begin to ease starting Friday. We’ll still see temperatures in the 90s into the 4th of July weekend. Daily chances for some scattered showers and storms will continue.
Next week slightly better. We’ll not see the extreme heat return, but we’ll remain typically hot and humid with highs in the low 90s and a heat index near 100. There will be a daily chance for scattered afternoon showers and storms.
THURSDAY: Very hot and humid with afternoon storms. Highs in the upper 90s. Wind: NE 5 mph.
TONIGHT: Warm and muggy. Patchy fog. lows in the middle 70s. Wind: Calm.
