Massachusetts Republicans will have the chance to apply to travel to Texas this September to join President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and other prominent members of the GOP for Trump’s new and first-ever midterm convention.
The event, scheduled for Sept. 9 and 10 in Dallas, is a new push by Trump and Republicans to boost support and voter turnout in crucial races that will ultimately decide if the party maintains control of Congress.
“For the first time ever, the Republican Party will hold a Midterm Convention — a historic, one-of-a-kind event,” MassGOP Chair Amy Carnevale said in a letter to registered Massachusetts Republicans on Wednesday.
“President Donald J. Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, the Republican National Committee and Republicans from around the country will come together in Dallas for a national celebration heading into the 2026 midterms — a moment to unite our Party, energize our grassroots, and showcase our candidates on the national stage, all while celebrating our nation, our achievements, and our bright future,” she said.
Carnevale and the MassGOP urge those considering joining them in Dallas to fill out an application for a cost of $20. All funds will go to the MassGOP, according to the application.
“We are going to celebrate the GREAT AMERICAN COMEBACK, and the incredible successes of the American People who transformed our Country through the America First Agenda — NO TAX ON TIPS, NO TAX ON OVERTIME, NO TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY, STRONGER BORDERS, SAFEST EVER COMMUNITIES, LOWER COSTS AND REAL AFFORDABILITY, MORE JOBS, AMERICAN ENERGY DOMINANCE, AND SO MUCH MORE! Oil Prices are dropping sharply, even as we Denuclearize Iran. We are delivering on the promises that politicians talked about for decades, but never got done,” Trump said in a Tuesday post to Truth Social.
“At the Event, we will have hardworking Americans, our Great Innovators, Entrepreneurs, Manufacturers, First Responders, and Job Creators who are powering our Nation’s Golden Age, and proving that America’s best days are still ahead of us. We will also have lots of Great Entertainment — It will be a RALLY like none other! America’s 250th Birthday is approaching, and together, we are building the foundation for the NEXT 250 YEARS of American Greatness,” he said.
Trump and the RNC are holding the event as Republicans hold a slim lead in Congress, with 218 seats in the House to 212 occupied by the Democratic Party, with four open seats. In the Senate, Republicans hold a 53-45 advantage over Democrats, with Independent Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Angus King (I-ME) almost always voting with Democrats.
