Connecting Hospitality, Technology, and Community at VTS – Virginia Theological Seminary

Date: July 1, 2026
Happy summer, everyone! As Taryn mentioned in commentary this week, “The dean’s office at VTS is more than an administrative hub—it’s a place where hospitality, service, and seamless coordination come together to support our mission.” I couldn’t agree more, and I am incredibly happy to be a part of such a wonderful team!
Reflecting on my 10 plus years with this community, it’s remarkable how quickly the time has gone. Over the last decade, VTS has truly become a second home, and what has made this time so rewarding is the deep connections and daily interactions with the students, faculty, staff, and guests who bring this campus to life.
As the Operations Manager for Guest Services and Technology, I manage the complex logistics of meeting events and guest house management while also handling our on-campus IT needs. While I always aim to bring a helpful and positive spirit to my daily work, the true credit goes to the team members supporting me in these efforts. A huge thank you goes out to John, Griffin, and the rest of the facilities team for their tireless work of setting up campus events. The housekeeping team, Cristina and Teresa, who ensure our guests always receive a warm welcome. And to my student workers—Jeremy, Torie, Nachelle, Beth, Matti, Gabe, and Jason of the computer lab and guest services. Some of our event highlights this year include hosting local non-profits and various departments of the Alexandria City government. These events are a success because of a collective effort, and it is my privilege to lead it.
I’m looking forward to an exciting summer and a very eventful calendar this Fall. As always, I’m here to help, so please let me know how I can assist you at [email protected] or 703-461-1757.
