Danish command and control (C2) software specialist Systematic is developing new features for its widely used SitaWare suite. These include an enhanced briefing tool, due for roll out in July 2026, and the use of agentic artificial intelligence (AAI) to support course of action analysis.
Adam Philpotts, senior sales support engineer at Systematic, told Janes that currently headquarters (HQ) briefings are conducted using features in SitaWare such as bookmarks, overlays and other presentation tools, including synchronisation matrices. In a single centralised HQ, he said, these can be displayed without overly burdening the system capacity.
However, in an era of dispersed and distributed HQs and with a need to keep radio frequency (RF) transmission to a minimum, the ability to brief “has come down to third-party applications, such a Microsoft Teams” Philpotts said. “But in a congested, contested environment that becomes an issue for communications because it’s a burden on the network”.
The enhanced briefing tool is designed so that the required bookmarks, layers and structures are distributed on the system beforehand. The briefing can be controlled from a single device, and at the appropriate point in the briefing all that is required is a signal to move to the next bookmark or layer and the required action is synchronised across the system.
