Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Jacqui Heinrich married U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pennsylvania, on a warm summer day in New York City.
Fitzpatrick, 52, and Heinrich, 37, who got engaged in France last year, tied the knot on Saturday, June 20 at the historic Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. The wedding party continued into the evening with a reception that took place aboard a yacht.
Heinrich for her wedding day wore a custom Galia Lahav gown for the ceremony and reception, according to her posts on social media.
Fitzpatrick, in an Instagram post celebrating his parents’ 70th anniversary, said he “married his best friend” with his “parents there beside us.”
The bride, meanwhile, shared a series of photos on Instagram from the wedding and the couple’s photoshoot in Central Park, including one with a 1930 Rolls Royce that also drove them away from the cathedral. She shared that her father got out of his wheelchair “just before the Cathedral doors opened” to walk her down the aisle.
“It was nothing short of heroic, and the cheers from the crowd definitely gave him strength to finish,” Heinrich wrote.
The newlyweds told People magazine they chose New York City for their nuptials to honor their family heritage and because of the importance the city holds in their lives.
“New York is significant to both of our lives — it was Jacqui’s first assignment as a network news reporter and Brian’s first assignment as an FBI agent,” the couple told People. “Brian’s parents are both from New York, where their own parents settled after immigrating from Ireland via Ellis Island.”
Similarly, Heinrich’s great-grandparents immigrated to New York after arriving from Hungary.
“It’s a place we often spend time, and it’s conveniently equidistant between our families in Pennsylvania and New England,” they added.
Fitzpatrick wasn’t the only lawmaker at the wedding. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and former Sen. Joe Manchin were also part of the nuptials.
The correspondent and the Pennsylvania lawmaker announced their engagement in People magazine last year.
Fitzpatrick popped the question at sunrise in a lavender field in the South of France. He purchased her engagement ring from her long-running family jeweler in Portland, Maine, according to the magazine.
The couple celebrated their engagement at a coffee shop with espresso before quickly heading back to Washington for Fitzpatrick’s work duties.
Fitzpatrick and Heinrich met in Washington. Their first date was to the Kennedy Center Honors in 2021 according to PhillyBurbs, part of the USA TODAY Network.
Heinrich, who does not directly cover Congress in her position reporting on the presidency, is often seen on camera in the White House press briefing room. She first joined the network as a New York-based general assignment reporter in 2018, according to her bio on Fox.
In 2021, she was promoted to congressional correspondent and later promoted to White House correspondent. Previously, she worked at local news stations in Boston, Las Vegas and Colorado Springs, Colorado.
In office since 2016, Fitzpatrick represents Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District covering Bucks County and parts of Montgomery County, in suburban Philadelphia. Before entering public office, Fitzpatrick served for 15 years as an FBI special agent and federal prosecutor, according to his website.
