Air India Express will launch direct flights between Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) and India’s Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) from 15 July 2026, becoming the first airline to operate international services from Maharashtra’s newest airport.
Flights will operate twice weekly on Wednesdays and Fridays, with a third weekly Sunday service added from 29 July.
Operated by a Boeing 737 aircraft, the outbound service will depart AUH at 05:45 and arrive at NMIA at 10:20, while the inbound flight will leave NMIA at 02:55 and land at AUH at 04:35. Flight time is just over three hours, with one-way fares from Navi Mumbai starting at approximately AED600 (US$162).

The schedule has been designed to improve connectivity between the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and the UAE capital. With the addition of Navi Mumbai, the airline will operate 30 weekly services from the airport, connecting it directly with Abu Dhabi, Bengaluru and Delhi. The new route also expands Air India Express’ presence in Maharashtra, where it already operates more than 95 weekly flights from Mumbai, more than 100 weekly flights from Pune and 14 weekly flights from Nagpur.
The launch marks another milestone for NMIA, which opened in late 2025 as Mumbai’s second airport. Ahead of the launch of its first international services, its Terminal 1 was recently named among the World’s Most Beautiful Airports in the 2026 Prix Versailles awards. Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the hub was recognised for its lotus-inspired architecture, passenger experience and integration of art and sustainability.
