Both AYN and Retroid have released new software updates for their flagship Android handhelds, the Odin 3 and Pocket 6 respectively. The updates are OTA-based and include multiple bug fixes for the two handhelds.
The AYN Odin 3 update arrives as version 1.0.0.187, and while it brings no new features, it is packed with fixes that cut across key components such as the GPU, display, and battery. It also includes fixes for select games such as Zenless Zone Zero and PUBG Mobile. Unfortunately, according to comments on the Odin 3 Discord channel, the HDR display and fan noise issues have not been fixed. Nevertheless, below is the changelog for the update:
It is worth mentioning that you may run into an error (Upgrade failed. code = 20) when trying to update the Odin 3 if you have Rocknix installed. Apparently, the solution is to restore the original bootloader by running the ‘restore_backup_abl script as root. The update should run fine after doing this.
The update for the Retroid Pocket 6 arrives as version 1.0.0.404, and like the update for the Odin 3, it also fixes some issues with the device. However, there are a few new features, too. Below is the complete changelog:
