On Friday, June 19, 2026 at 6:18 p.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to North Precinct responded to a call of a crash on southbound Interstate-5 at exit 299A/Lake Oswego, just south of the Marquam Bridge. When they arrived they found a motorcycle-involved crash. EMS also responded and paramedics determined that the rider was deceased at the scene. Preliminary information is that no other vehicles were involved.
The Portland Police Traffic Division Major Crash Team is responding to the scene to investigate. During the investigation, southbound I-5 is closed. Traffic is being routed from the Marquam Bridge onto northbound I-405. When possible, drivers should use I-205 as a bypass to continue into south and southwest Portland. The Oregon Department of Transportation is on scene assisting PPB with traffic control.
