In addition to rising rates for transportation, electric and sewer services, the parking rate at the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport is also scheduled to increase starting July 1.
Rates for the first six hours will remain the same, according to the Hawaii Department of Transportation, but parking rates for six to seven hours will increase from $23 to $24; seven to eight hours will increase from $25 to $27; and eight hours or more — including overnight parking — will increase from $27 to $29.
The 15-minute grace period for dropping off or picking up travelers will remain free.
Negotiated in 2018, the fee increase is part of an incremental rate structure agreement made with the long-time parking concessionaire, ABM Parking Services.
According to the HDOT release, parking fees support the agency’s efforts to maintain and modernize the airport’s parking facilities. Upcoming projects include:
The HDOT says parking lot improvements are also underway statewide at Lihue Airport, Hilo International Airport, Ellison Onizuka International Airport at Keahole, and Kahului Airport.
Drivers headed to the airport can check real-time parking availability on the HNL website or the HNL Info app. Both offer a calculator to estimate parking costs, parking maps, information on electric vehicle parking and charging stations, accessible parking and free cellphone waiting lots.
The Daniel K. Inouye International Airport offers approximately 5,924 stalls.
Parking rates starting July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028:
Note: $1 increase for parking eight hours or more, effective July 1, 2027 to June 30, 2028.
