Apple has announced changes impacting iOS apps in Brazil following an agreement with the country’s competition regulator CADE. The updates introduce alternative app marketplaces, new payment options outside Apple In-App Purchase, and updated developer business terms.
Apple says the changes also include safeguards aimed at reducing privacy and security risks.
Developers in Brazil will be allowed to distribute iOS apps through alternative app marketplaces in addition to the App Store. These marketplaces must be authorized by Apple and meet ongoing requirements.
Apps distributed outside the App Store will be reviewed through Notarization, which focuses on basic security and integrity checks, including:
