President Donald Trump signed the peace agreement between the United States and Iran while in France on Wednesday for the G7 Summit. Pakistani Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif confirmed the Iranian leadership had also signed the pact and said the stipulations of the deal will take "immediate effect."

The dual signings took place two days ahead of the formal ceremony, which is set for Friday and is still expected to occur. Acting early, though, will allow for the opening of the Strait of Hormuz and the lifting of the U.S. blockade of Iran to take place even sooner.
The 14-point peace plan does not completely resolve all disputes between the two nations. For issues like the dismantling of Iran’s nuclear program, it establishes a 60-day window that can be extended, if necessary, to sort out the technical details of the agreement.
Here's the latest:
6:47 a.m. ET: Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has signed the Memorandum of Understanding, to go along with the signature of President Trump, effectively ending hostilities between the two nations.
Iran's semi-official Tasnim News Agency released an image of Pezeshkian with a signed copy of the agreement.
"The President of Iran and the President of the United States signed the text of the memorandum of understanding digitally and remotely within a short period of time," Tasnim said.
6:36 a.m. ET: President Donald Trump signed the Memorandum of Understanding just before a dinner at the Palace of Versailles.
Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino shared a video of the president signing the document that would formally put the peace agreement into effect.
