World Cup 2026 Today: June 15 Fixtures, Results And Updates – rg.org

All four matches ended level. Cape Verde earned the first World Cup point in the country’s history by holding Spain to a 0-0 draw, while Egypt impressed in a 1-1 stalemate with Belgium.
Saudi Arabia led Uruguay before Maxi Araújo secured a 1-1 draw, and Iran twice came from behind to share the points with New Zealand in a 2-2 finish.
Four more matches are scheduled for June 16, with France and defending champions Argentina beginning their campaigns.

Iran twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw with New Zealand at SoFi Stadium.
Elijah Just scored both goals for the All Whites, opening the scoring after seven minutes before restoring their lead early in the second half.
Ramin Rezaeian produced Iran’s first equalizer with an outside-of-the-foot finish and later supplied the pass for Mohammad Mohebbi’s headed goal in the 64th minute.
Neither team could find a winner during the closing stages, leaving every nation in Group G level on one point after the opening round.
Iran next face Belgium on June 21, while New Zealand meet Egypt.
Uruguay recovered from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw with Saudi Arabia in Miami Gardens.
Abdulelah Al-Amri gave Saudi Arabia the lead shortly before halftime, reacting first after Fernando Muslera saved Saud Abdulhamid’s effort following a corner.
Uruguay increased the pressure after the break and Manuel Ugarte struck the post before Maxi Araújo equalized in the 80th minute. Mohammed Al-Owais saved Federico Viñas’ initial header, but Araújo converted the rebound.
Al-Owais then made crucial stoppage-time saves from Nicolás de la Cruz and Federico Valverde to preserve a point for the Green Falcons.
All four teams in Group H now have one point after Spain and Cape Verde also drew earlier Monday.

Saudi Arabia lead Uruguay 1-0 at halftime in Miami after Abdulelah Al Amri broke the deadlock following a corner.
The defender reacted from close range and guided a right-footed shot into the centre of the net.
The Green Falcons are now 45 minutes away from another famous World Cup victory over South American opposition after defeating Argentina in their 2022 opener.

Egypt’s wait for a first World Cup victory continued after Belgium recovered to earn a 1-1 draw in Seattle.
Emam Ashour gave Egypt the lead after 21 minutes with a powerful finish from Mohamed Salah’s assist. Salah created the goal on his 34th birthday as the Pharaohs delivered an organized and energetic performance against the Group G favourites.
Belgium improved after halftime, with Kevin De Bruyne striking the post before Mohamed Hany inadvertently turned Thomas Meunier’s cross into his own net under pressure from Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku later headed over an opportunity to complete the comeback, while Salah was withdrawn before the closing stages.
Egypt remain without a victory in World Cup history, but their performance against Belgium provided encouragement ahead of their remaining Group G matches.

Egypt lead Group G favourites Belgium 1-0 at halftime after an impressive opening 45 minutes in Seattle.
Emam Ashour produced a superb finish from Mohamed Salah’s assist to give the Pharaohs a deserved advantage.
Belgium entered the match ranked 14 places above Egypt but struggled to find their rhythm against a disciplined and energetic opponent.
It is only the second time Egypt have led in a World Cup match, after Salah opened the scoring against Saudi Arabia in 2018.

Cape Verde earned the first World Cup point in the country’s history by holding tournament favourites Spain to a stunning 0-0 draw in Atlanta.
Spain controlled possession and created the better chances, but 40-year-old goalkeeper Vozinha produced several important saves to frustrate the European champions.
Ferran Torres struck the crossbar and also tested Vozinha with a powerful effort, while the Cape Verde captain denied Pedri. Spain introduced Lamine Yamal during the second half but still could not find a breakthrough.
Cape Verde nearly completed an even greater upset late on, when Diney Borges forced Unai Simón into a save with a header.
“We lacked freshness and being clinical,” Spain coach Luis de la Fuente said after the match.
Both teams begin their Group H campaigns with one point. Spain next face Saudi Arabia, while Cape Verde meet Uruguay.
Iran open their World Cup campaign against New Zealand at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles at 9:00 p.m. ET.
Iran arrive after three consecutive friendly victories and will look to move past the off-field uncertainty that surrounded their preparations. Mehdi Taremi remains their main attacking threat after recording 10 goals and seven assists during qualifying.
New Zealand are appearing at the World Cup for the first time in 16 years and are still seeking their first victory at the tournament.
Chris Wood led Oceania qualifying with nine goals in five matches and will be central to New Zealand’s hopes of causing an upset.
Iran have never conceded against New Zealand in two previous meetings, recording one win and one draw.
Saudi Arabia begin their World Cup campaign against Uruguay in Miami at 6:00 p.m. ET.
The Green Falcons will hope to recreate their famous 2-1 victory over eventual champions Argentina in their opening match of the 2022 tournament. However, they enter this edition with only one win in five matches during 2026.
Uruguay arrive without legendary forwards Luis Suárez and Edinson Cavani, while their qualifying campaign lost momentum after early victories over Brazil and Argentina.
Darwin Núñez remains Uruguay’s leading attacking threat after contributing five goals and two assists during qualifying. Firas Al-Buraikan led Saudi Arabia with five goals but has not scored in his last six international appearances.
Uruguay won the teams’ most recent meeting 1-0 during the 2018 World Cup.
Belgium open their World Cup campaign against Egypt in Seattle at 3:00 p.m. ET.
The Red Devils qualified unbeaten and enter the tournament on a 13-match undefeated run, having scored seven unanswered goals across their final two friendlies against Croatia and Tunisia.
Egypt also went unbeaten during qualifying but are still searching for their first victory at a World Cup. The Pharaohs have drawn two and lost five of their seven previous matches at the tournament.
Jérémy Doku contributed five goals and two assists during Belgium’s qualifying campaign, while Mohamed Salah was directly involved in 12 of Egypt’s 20 goals.
Egypt have won three of the teams’ four previous meetings, although this will be their first encounter at a major tournament.
Spain begin their World Cup campaign against tournament debutants Cape Verde in Atlanta at 12:00 p.m. ET.
The reigning European champions enter among the leading contenders for the title, although they have not progressed beyond the round of 16 at any of the last three World Cups.
Cape Verde arrive with confidence after winning six of their final seven qualifiers and both pre-tournament friendlies by 3-0 scorelines.
Mikel Oyarzabal contributed six goals and four assists during qualifying for Spain, while Dailon Livramento scored in four of Cape Verde’s last five qualifiers.
Spain hope to have Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams available after both missed their final friendly against Peru.
